SKIP-BO

If you’re looking for a classic card game that will provide hours of entertainment, look no further than SKIP-BO! Originally released in 1967, this beloved card game has stood the test of time, becoming a staple in households across the globe. Here’s everything you need to know about playing SKIP-BO with your family and friends.

The Rules of SKIP-BO

SKIP-BO is a card game for two to six players and can be played with just one deck of cards. The object of the game is to be the first player to get rid of all their cards by building four piles in ascending order (1 - 12). Players must build their own piles while also trying to block their opponents from doing so.

Here’s how it works:

At the start of the game each player receives 30 cards face down. The remaining remaining cards are placed aside as the stockpile. The top card on each pile is then flipped over and placed in front of its owner. This is called a reserve pile and can hold up to 4 cards at once. On each turn, players must draw five new cards from either their reserve pile or from the stockpile if there are no more cards left in their reserve pile. These five new cards can then be used to build upon one’s own pile or block an opponent’s pile by playing a Skip Bo card on it – hence the name “SKIP-BO”! Once all four piles have been built up to 12, the player shouts out “SKIP-BO” and wins the round!

Strategy Tips & Tricks

When playing SKIP-BO it helps to use some basic strategies like creating multiple discard piles or stockpiling useful Wildcards (which can replace any number). Additionally, try playing defensively when possible by blocking your opponents as they attempt to complete their piles – this can give you valuable extra turns that could turn the tide of battle in your favor! Lastly, don't forget that patience is key; even if you don't appear to be making progress during certain turns it's important not to rush into decisions because one wrong move could cost you dearly later on down the line.

Conclusion

Whether you're an experienced veteran or brand new player, SKIP-BO offers something for everyone! With simple yet strategic gameplay mechanics and endless replay value, this classic card game is sure to become a favorite with your family or friends anytime you decide sit down for a few rounds of friendly competition.
